54) 1926 - Wilfred Rhodes is recalled at the age of 48, subsequently takes six wickets in the match and England regain the Ashes
53) 1998 - Dean Headley is inspired and takes six wickets to bowl the Australians out for 162 after a marathon four-hour final session at Melbourne
52) 1953 - Trevor Bailey and Willie Watson have a memorable final day rearguard action at Lord's defying the Australian bowlers for over four hours to secure a draw
51) 1903 - Tip Foster makes his Test debut at Sydney and ends up with a record 287, still the highest score by anyone on Test debut. He also adds 130 for the tenth wicket Wilfred Rhodes
50) 1987 - Peter 'Who' Taylor makes his Test debut as an unheralded off-spinner and ends up taking 6/78 and winning the man of the match award as Australia gain a consolation victory at Sydney
49) 1950 - Len Hutton counters a sticky wicket at Brisbane to score an unbeaten 62* when England's next highest score is just 17
48) 1966 - Bob Cowper scores 307 at Melbourne - the first Test triple century in Australia. Due to the slow outfield, it contains 26 threes
47) 1974 - Doug Walters completes a century in a session at Perth by hooking the last ball of the day off Bob Willis for six
46) 2009 - James Anderson and Monty Panesar cling on in front of a packed house at Cardiff to clinch a draw in the first Test of the series
45) 1994 - Shane Warne's dismisses Phil DeFreitas, Darren Gough and Devon Malcolm with successive deliveries to take a hat-trick in the Boxing Day Test at Melbourne
44) 2006 - Steve Harmison's first delivery of the Ashes series at Brisbane ends up in Andrew Flintoff's hands at second slip
43) 1971 - John Snow bowls a memorable spell at Sydney to finish with figures of 7/40 to win the match for England
42) 2005 - Glenn McGrath hangs on to survive the final over of the Old Trafford Test with Australia nine wickets down
41) 1997 - Nasser Hussain makes 207 with 38 boundaries as he and Graham Thorpe put on 288 at Edgbaston as England win the first Test of the series
40) 1981 - Ian Botham is at it again as he takes 5-11 to bowl Australia out for just 121 in their second innings to give England a victory by 29 runs
39) 1896 - Indian Prince Ranji makes his test debut at Old Trafford and scores 154* on Test debut to usher in the 'Golden Age' of Cricket
38) 1999 - In Australia's second innings at Sydney, Michael Slater scores 123 out of their all-out total of just 184
37) 2006 - Adam Gilchrist reaches his century from just 57 balls at Perth, just missing Viv Richards's Test record by one delivery
