League leaders secure fifth straight win
AZ Alkmaar have extended their lead at the top of the Eredivisie beating FC Utrecht 2-0 at the DSB Stadion on Friday night.
AZ's fifth successive win opens up a six-point lead over title rivals Ajax thanks to two goals either side of half time.
Ex-Tottenham midfielder Mounir El Hamdaoui opened the scoring for AZ after eight minutes when the 24-year-old left winger netted his 14th goal of the season.
It was not until the dying moments that AZ sealed the home win, when Dutch defender Demy de Zeeuw 90th-minute goal doubled the home side's tally.
Utrecht stay ninth despite the away defeat, but Willem van Hanegem's side are now without a win in two games.
