Brentford opened up a three point lead at the top with a comfortable 2-0 win over Port Vale.
Osborne and MacDonald goals see Bees go three points clear
Brentford stretched their lead at the top of League Two with a comfortable 2-0 win over mid-table Port Vale.
Bees striker Charlie MacDonald wasted a chance to give his side a dream start when his fifth-minute penalty was saved by Vale goalkeeper Joe Anyon.
But Brentford's dominance eventually told when defender Karleigh Osborne headed home at the near post from a corner on the stroke of half-time.
The visitors battled, but were restricted to just one shot on target and it was no surprise when MacDonald wrapped up the points with three minutes remaining, producing a clinical finish after a flowing four-man move.
