Quakers record back-to-back League Two wins

New boss Simon Davey made a winning start as Darlington picked up a 2-1 win at Burton to keep alive their slim hopes of survival. Burton should have been ahead inside two minutes but Greg Pearson fired against a post from six yards when it seemed easier to score. But it was Darlington who went on to dominate much of the first half, rocking the hosts with two goals in a 10-minute spell. Josh Gray put them ahead with a superb left-foot shot from the edge of the area in the 22nd minute and defender Alan White headed their second from Gary Smith's corner in the 32nd minute. The visitors were good value for their lead and could count themselves unlucky when Pearson reduced the deficit from the penalty spot after being felled by Paul Arnison. The Quakers had handball appeals waved away as Tadgh Purcell was denied in a goalmouth scramble in the 49th minute. Burton piled forward in search of the equaliser but their former keeper Shane Redmond was equal to Steve Kabba's shot on the turn.
