Dagenham maintain play-off push with 3-1 win
Dagenham maintained their push for a play-off place with a comfortable 3-1 victory over Accrington at Victoria Road.
Bobby Grant fired Stanley into an early lead, but John Still's men roared back with strikes from Paul Benson, Peter Gain and Danny Green.
The visitors went ahead in the fifth minute when Sean McConville was left unmarked to pick out Grant, and he slid home from close range. But within two minutes it was 1-1 as Green's long throw landed at the feet of leading scorer Benson, who duly converted his 16th of the season.
The home side moved in front four minutes before the break as Jon Nurse set up Gain and the midfielder slotted past Ian Dunbavin.
Josh Scott then missed an open goal as he headed over the bar from a yard, but the Daggers had a let-off shortly after the interval as Tony Roberts pulled off a fine save to keep out Grant's free-kick
Dagenham extended their advantage in the 53rd minute when Green's long-range free-kick squirmed out of Dunbavin's grasp and ended up in the bottom corner. But Dunbavin denied Benson, Nurse and Scott as the Daggers threatened to run riot, while Roberts had to be alert to prevent a Grant consolation.
