FC Utrecht's impressive start to the season shows no sign of abating as they had too much for Roda JC in Friday night's Eredivisie game.
On home soil Utrecht always looked in control from the moment Jacob Mulenga opened the scoring two minutes before half-time. A defensive lapse from Eric Addo let Mulenga through to score with a low drive.
It was a lead they extended after the interval as Ricky van Wolfswinkel looked to have made the game safe with a second on 74 minutes, stabbing home after the ball had come back off the frame of Roda's goal.
Willem Janssen's last gasp effort for Roda made for a nervy finale but Utrecht held on to secure a three point haul.
The win moves Utrecht up to fourth in the table, while Roda remain in 15th place.
