Saddlers earn victory at Orient

Leyton Orient's wretched home form returned to haunt them as they slumped to a 1-0 defeat to Walsall.

Os punished as poor home form continues

Leyton Orient's wretched home form returned to haunt them as they slumped to their 10th defeat at Brisbane Road, losing 1-0 to Walsall. The Saddlers broke the deadlock in a first-half of few chances when they punished a poor pass by Orient defender Charlie Daniels to break clear, with midfielder Mark Bradley getting away from marker Paul Terry and beating goalkeeper Jamie Jones with a rising shot. Walsall goalkeeper Clayton Ince only managed to hold an early effort from Orient striker Scott McGleish at the second attempt, while Walsall midfielder Sofiene Zaaboub forced Jones to tip over his rising shot midway through an even first 45 minutes. Ince made an outstanding save to tip over an effort from Orient midfielder Jimmy Smith early in the second half. Walsall seemed to settle for hanging onto their lead, and Ince rescued them with a feet-first save from Orient midfielder Jason Demetriou. He also saw a header from Daniels fly over his crossbar, but otherwise made a major contribution to Walsall's fifth away win of the season with his sound handling.
