Luton avoid shock home defeat
Non-league Altrincham earned an FA Cup first-round replay with struggling Luton after a battling 0-0 draw at Kenilworth Road.
The Robins could even have won the game with Chris Senior seeing a goal ruled out for offside on the hour and Colin Little and Greg Young going close.
League Two strugglers Luton threatened within 40 seconds when Wayne Andrews latched on to a long ball only to blaze over from 18 yards.
But after that it was all Alty as Senior almost profited from home goalkeeper Conrad Logan's miscued clearance in the 22nd minute before teeing up Young to sidefoot over four minutes later.
The visitors kept up the pressure after the break and Little ran clean through in the 53rd minute only to be denied by the legs of Logan.
Seven minutes later Michael Spillane's error allowed Little to backheel into the path of Senior to round Logan and slide home but the effort was disallowed for offside.
