Striker set to return from loan spell with Barrow

Carlisle manager Greg Abbott is keen to bring Andy Cook back from his loan spell with Barrow. The striker has scored five goals in six games during his one-month loan spell with the Blue Square Premier outfit, including a spectacular opener in the 2-1 FA Cup victory over Eastleigh at the weekend. Barrow were keen to extend the loan but Abbott is itching to see what the 19-year-old can do in League One. "We haven't actually spoken to Barrow about the situation yet but, as far as I am concerned, I am looking at having him back here for at least a month so that I can take a look at him," Abbott told the club's official website. "He's been training with us anyway, so we know what he's all about, so it's time for us to look at him in a couple of reserve games, and maybe even try to get him a bit of time out on the pitch. We now want to see just how much progress he has made. "We now have a real indication that we may have a player who has a knack of scoring goals. Every level he has played at so far, he has scored. "The next step is League One football, and it will be interesting to see how quickly he makes the move up."
