VVV stay not definite for starlet
Young striker Ruud Boymans has revealed talks over a new contract with VVV Venlo have fallen through.
The 21-year-old, who is contracted with the Eredivisie club until next year, will wait to see if VVV will remain in the Dutch top-flight this season before deciding whether to pen a new deal.
Boymans, who has scored nine league goals this term, admits he was initially positive about negotiations with Venlo, but told
Voetbal International: "Then some things intervened. Their performances are a risk, while I myself have improved.
"That's why I have doubts."
While unsure if his future lies with Venlo, Boymans insists he will stay in the Dutch top flight and is not targeting a move overseas, adding: "I will anyway remain in the Eredivisie."
