Midfielder signs contract extension until the summer of 2014

Freiburg midfielder Cedric Makiadi has signed a new contract which ties him to Badenova-Stadion until the summer of 2014. The 27-year-old's previous deal was set to expire at the end of next season, but he has been a first-team regular for manager Robin Dutt in the current campaign. Eighth-placed Bundesliga side Freiburg have yet to give up hope of qualifying for Europe and Makiadi, a 2009 signing from Duisburg, will remain an important part of those plans. Freiburg general manager Dirk Dufner told the club's official website: "Cedric Makiadi is a valuable first-team player for our club, with his presence, with his force, as well as with his qualities in attacking and defending situations.

Signal

"We are glad to have him signed on a new contract at our club." In contrast, 31-year-old defender Pavel Krmas looks set to leave Freiburg when his contract expires in the summer, as the Czech's agent claims there has been no offer of a new deal. Krmas' representative, Dirk Pietroschinsky, told Kicker: "Pavel Krmas is contracted to Freiburg until the end of the season. "The club have now handed me the signal they will not be coming up with a new contract. "He will be unable to sign on at SC Freiburg, he will be moving on this summer." Meanwhile, Freiburg have confirmed the sale of Cameroon Under 23 international Alain Junior Olle Olle to Norwegian side Molde FK.
