Gillingham manager Andy Hessenthaler has offered professional contracts to five of the club's youth players.
Goalkeeper Daren Hawkes, defenders Jack Evans and Callum Davies, plus midfielders Alex Brown and Tom Brunt are all second-year youth-team scholars. Hessenthaler told the club's official website: "This is a really strong group of players, there are good ones in the year below, and the year below them are even stronger. "I am a manager what likes to bring through youngsters, that's what we did with Matt Jarvis and Andrew Crofts. If they are good enough they will get their chance."
