Promising Portuguese full-back makes move to Spain
Atletico Madrid have announced the signing of Sporting Braga defender Silvio.
The Portugal international revealed immediately after Braga's Europa League final defeat to Porto last month that he was on his way to Atletico.
And the Spanish side have now confirmed that they have secured the services of the 23-year-old full-back on a five-year contract.
"Atletico Madrid and Sporting Braga have reached an agreement to close the signing of the Portuguese defender Silvio," read a statement on Atletico's
official website.
Five-year contract
"The new player will wear the Rojiblanco shirt for the next five seasons."
After coming through the youth ranks at Benfica, he played for Atletico Cacem, Odivelas and Rio Ave before joining Braga last summer.
Silvio, who has won three caps for his country, will be presented by his new club on Tuesday at the Vicente Calderon stadium.
