Allardyce considers move for Australian international

West Ham have taken former Blackpool defender David Carney on trial at Upton Park. The Australia international has been without a club since being released by Blackpool following their relegation from the Premier League last season. He was linked to a number of clubs, including Nottingham Forest during the summer but a move never materialised. West Ham manager Sam Allardyce is keen to add more depth to his defensive options and could be set to hand Carney a one-year deal if he impresses during his stint at the club. The 27 year-old was involved heavily in a match between a Hammers development squad and a Tottenham XI on Monday night.
