Former Boro midfielder is enjoying life back in his native France

Didier Digard is hoping to get his career back on track at Nice following difficult experiences at Paris St Germain and Middlesbrough. The former France U21 international has struggled with injuries in recent years, with lengthy spells on the sidelines hindering his progress. He struggled to settle in England and was loaned out to Nice last season. That move was made permanent over the summer and the 25-year-old is looking to open a new chapter in his career. He believes he is closing on his best form once more and has refused to rule out the possibility of forcing himself into the French senior side in the not too distant future. "I experienced a very difficult year in Paris," Digard told L'Equipe.

Trust

"At the end of that season I left Paris. I had to bounce back somewhere else. "I wanted to play in England and I chose Middlesbrough, but I was struck down in a match against Wigan. "At Nice, I have been given responsibility and trust and my role is more important. "Injuries have held me back. I haven't made the progress I had hoped to make. But I am still young and my career is far from over. "The French team? I don't walk to talk about it, but being asked means I have the potential and that is enough for me. "I am only 25 and I have time on my side. I am just having fun at Nice right now."
