Feyenoord stopper pleased with progress so far
Defender Gill Swerts insists he will not hurry his comeback from an Achilles injury after returning to training with Feyenoord on Tuesday.
The Belgium international tore his Achilles tendon at the end of last season and has been recovering ever since.
The 29-year-old has spent the past five months in Belgium working on his rehabilitation but returned to Rotterdam this week.
While former AZ Alkmaar right-back Swerts says he is happy with his progress so far, he refuses to rush his recovery and is yet to name a date for his return.
On schedule
"I'm happy with the way my rehabilitation is going so far," he told
Sport Promotion. "It may take a few days of care, but the road back in on schedule.
"I don't have a prediction about when I will be one hundred per cent. I will not be rushed but I won't delay if I can help it."
He added: "I have spent the past few months in Belgium working in peace, which I liked.
"Now it's time to return to Rotterdam, where I will complete the rest of my recovery."
