The versatile defender initially linked up with the Clarets over the summer on a season-long loan agreement.
He has been a regular in Eddie Howe's first-team plans and has figured in the vast majority of the club's Championship fixtures.
It comes as no surprise to find that Burnley have moved to bring him on board full-time.
An undisclosed fee has been agreed with City and they have tied Mee down on a three-and-a-half-year contract.
The 22-year-old will now be looking to help Burnley with their efforts to secure promotion back to the Premier League.
