Striker expected to join Alania after Ipswich contract cancelled

Sky Sports understands Tamas Priskin is set to join Russian club Alania Vladikavkaz following the cancellation of his contract by Ipswich Town. Priskin left Ipswich on Tuesday after the Hungarian striker had scored nine goals in 60 appearances since moving to Portman Road in 2009. He had a spell on loan at Derby County earlier in the season, but is now poised for a new adventure with Russian second division side Alania. The forward's agent revealed last week that Alania had made an approach for Priskin and that there were 'two or three' teams interested in a deal. It is now understood that Priskin is set to sign a three-and-a-half year contract with Alania either on Wednesday or Thursday. Regarding his departure from Ipswich, Priskin told the club's official website: "It has been a privilege to play for a club of Ipswich Town's standing and I would like to wish the players and all involved at the club all the best for the future."
