Rangers manager Ally McCoist has confirmed VVV Venlo striker Michael Uchebo will not be moving to Ibrox.
The Nigerian joined the Scottish champions this week with a view to a trial period at Murray Park.
However, McCoist has decided not to pursue the player despite reports in the press claiming a £1million fee had been agreed with the Dutch club.
"He came in and trained but he's left again and that was a club decision," said the manager.
"He came in and trained (on Thursday) but we thought it was in the best interests of us and him that he pursued other options.
"To my knowledge there has been absolutely no contact between the clubs, never mind a fee agreed."
