Cagliari have signed Mauricio Pinilla from Palermo on loan with a view to a permanent deal.
The much travelled 27-year-old, who has had spells with Inter Milan, Chievo, Hearts and Sporting Lisbon, has signed a deal until the end of the season.
The Sardinia based club then have the option signing the Chile international on a permanent contract.
A delighted Pinilla told the
club's official website: "I am proud to be part of a great team with a great past.
"Cagliari is known in Italy for their professionalism and organisation. I know very well my team-mates against whom I have played often.
"I am sure this is one of the best teams in this division and we should not fear anyone."
