Drogba concern for Chelsea

Didier Drogba is an injury concern ahead of Chelsea's next game against West Brom after picking up a knee injury against Bolton.

Striker will miss Ivory Coast friendly due to a knee injury

Didier Drogba is an injury concern ahead of Chelsea's next game against West Bromwich Albion after picking up a knee injury against Bolton Wanderers. The striker was replaced 14 minutes from time after taking a knock to the knee having earlier scored his fourth Premier League goal of the season in the 3-0 win. Drogba will now miss the Ivory Coast's friendly against Guinea in midweek and the 33-year-old will be assessed by Chelsea's medical staff through the week. The victory over Bolton was only Drogba's third game since he returned from Africa Cup of Nations duty, with Chelsea struggling for goals in his absence. He was replaced against the Trotters by Fernando Torres, as the £50million man extended his scoreless run to 21 club matches. Torres joins Drogba as one of few Chelsea players not on international duty this week after being axed by Spain. Should Drogba fail to make it for the trip to West Brom, Torres will almost certainly be handed yet another chance to end his long drought and convince national team boss Vicente Del Bosque to recall him before this summer's European Championship.
