Internazionale stretched their lead at the top of the table to three points with a 2-0 victory at Fiorentina, while Roma beat Udinese 2-1 to climb to second.

Inter after Luis Jimenez opened the scoring in just the ninth minute.

Atalanta hammered

Giuseppe Mascara struck Catania's opener in the 28th minute and Gionatha Spinesi added a second from the penalty spot after 41 minutes.
Fabio Caserta halved Catania's lead in the 63rd minute but just 60 seconds after getting Palermo back into the game he was sent off for a professional foul.
Jorge Martinez then found the target in the last minute to clinch the three points for Catania.
Empoli began life under Alberto Malesani with a 1-0 defeat to
Parma that leaves them at the bottom of the table.
Massimo Paci netted the crucial goal after 20 minutes as Parma moved towards the safety of mid-table.
