Sparta Rotterdam have wasted no time in appointing Aad de Mos as Frans Adelaar's successor.
The Eredivisie outfit parted company with their manager on Sunday morning and have been able to line up his replacement on the same day.
A 4-1 defeat to Heerenveen on Saturday proved to be the final straw for the Sparta board, who felt change was necessary to bring about a reversal in fortune.
That result left the club just one point above the relegation play-off places in the Dutch top-flight.
De Mos has been charged with the task of keeping them in the division, agreeing a deal until the end of the season.
The 63-year-old was available after he walked out on Greek side Kavala on Friday following a dispute with the club's owner.
He has prior experience of coaching in his homeland, having begun his managerial career at Ajax before going on to take in spells at PSV Eindhoven and Vitesse Arnhem.
De Mos certainly appears to be an ideal candidate for the Sparta post, with an enviable CV able to boast the likes of Anderlecht, Werder Bremen and numerous other clubs across Europe and Asia.
