Premier pack pick up three-point hauls
The top three in Ligue 1 all won as Lyon, Bordeaux and Nancy edged further ahead of the chasing pack.
Auxerre were away day winners at Rennes, Strasbourg had too much for St Etienne, as did Valenciennes at home to Lorient.
Champions
Lyon left it late to make class tell at home to
Sochaux, before eventually coming out on top 4-1.
Mathieu Bodmer put them into a second minute lead but Sochaux hit back through Fabrice Pancrate not long after half-time.
Bodmer's second with 15 minutes remaining put Lyon back in charge, before Sidney Govou and Karim Benzema added a somewhat unrealistic look to the scoreline late on.
Bordeaux keep up the pressure as a double from Fernando Cavenaghi (26 & 73) and a late effort from Alou Diarra saw off
Metz.
Sebastien Puygrenieer struck in the final minute to secure
Nancy a 1-0 win over
Toulouse.
Dennis Oliech was another last minute hero as he scored the winner for
Auxerre at
Rennes.
Auxerre took the lead on the stroke of half-time as Oliech opened the scoring, only for Mikael Pagis to restore parity a minute after the break.
Strasbourg made light work of
St Etienne as goals from Renaud Cohadel, Manuel Dos Santos and Jacob Mulenga secured a 3-0 win.
The same scoreline ensued between
Valenciennes and
Lorient, as the home side won out thanks to Steve Savidan (40), Sebastien Roudet (52) and Filip Sebo (86).
The day's early kick-off saw
PSG and
Le Mans play out a 0-0 draw in the capital, while a similar tale occurred in the Principality as
Monaco and
Lille could not be separated.
