Norwich grab big win
Paul Lambert's first game in charge of Norwich ended in a tremendous 5-2 opening victory.
Grant Holt got the ball rolling after quarter of an hour by prodding home Simon Lappin's free kick and youngster Korey Smith, one of the new boys, doubled Norwich's advantage 10 minutes later with a scorching low drive and Jon Otsemobor made it three with a curling header which went in off the upright.
Wycombe, whose defending had been desperately poor, looked shell-shocked although Jon-Paul Pittman gave them some hope six minutes before the break after pouncing on a defensive error from Jens Berthel Askou.
Wycombe suggested they may be capable of making a sensational comeback when Matt Harrold took advantage of more slack defensive work to fire home 20 seconds after the restart.
But Norwich quickly restored their two-goal advantage with a bullet Askou header from another Lappin free-kick and Holt scored his second after 71 minutes following a swift counter-attack to complete the rout.
