Rotherham made it seven games without a win in their 1-1 draw with Shrewsbury, in what was a disappointing display from both sides.

The Millers overcame an early injury scare when Dale Tonge had to leave the field after only 10 minutes for stitches to a head injury and caused lots of problems for the Shrewsbury defence. After 18 minutes, Danny Schofield blasted a shot into the side netting and four minutes later Rotherham were ahead thanks to a peach of a goal from Lewis Grabban. He picked the ball up just inside the visitors' half, swept forward and with everyone expecting a pass, he hit an absolutely unstoppable shot into the top corner from all of 25 yards out. Rotherham continued to make all the running and Gareth Evans had a shot brilliantly saved by Chris Neal and the Shrews goalkeeper denied Grabban a second, turning his effort for a corner off his legs. But the visitors came back with a goal after 44 minutes. Mark Wright's free-kick was headed back across goal by Jermaine Grandison and substitute Shane Cansdell-Sherriff volleyed home from 12 yards out. By comparison, the second half was very disappointing with both teams more concerned with not losing then going for a winner. Shrewsbury never produced a shot on target while at the other end Marcus Marshall curled a shot just over and when it seemed Evans must score with six minutes remaining, he completely missed his shot.
