Sheehan strike rescues point for Swindon

Swindon defender Alan Sheehan scored a late equaliser to rescue a 2-2 draw and leave Wycombe's survival hopes hanging by a thread. Matt Bloomfield's neat finish and Alex Revell's 74th-minute header, either side of Billy Paynter's equaliser, had put the Chairboys in control. But Sheehan slotted home in the 80th minute for Danny Wilson's promotion contenders to leave Wycombe five points from safety with just two games remaining. Bloomfield sparked the game into life when he put Wanderers ahead on the stroke of half-time, bursting through the middle before drilling a low shot past keeper David Lucas from the edge of the box. Robins striker Charlie Austin had a goal ruled out for offside and Wanderers skipper Gareth Ainsworth was twice superbly denied by Lucas before Revell restored Wycombe's lead. Revell headed in Ainsworth's cross from close range after his penalty had been saved by Lucas, following Jon-Paul McGovern's foul on Betsy in the box. They could not hold on though and Sheehan raced onto Scott Cuthbert's through ball and coolly slotted past keeper Tom Heaton.
