Richard Hannon's Shamshon looks in good order, according to our mole on the gallops.

Latest Racing Stories

Richard Hannon worked a bunch of two-year-olds at both his bases on Friday morning, including the promising SHAMSHON. Connections have opted to tackle the Mill Reef Stakes at Newbury ahead of the Middle Park which gives Frankie Dettori another opportunity to advertise his return to the big time as owner Sheikh Joaan's retained jockey. Shamshon moved stylishly midweek and looked in good order in his breeze this morning ahead of his Group Two assignment. EXCHEQUER is another for the notebook and should acquit himself well in the Newbury maiden on the same card. The cash for him on his Sandown debut went west when he ran green, but he has gained plenty for the experience judged by the way he grabbed the ground in his breeze this morning. STORM RIDER has Richard Hughes on board for another Newbury maiden and this attractive Fastnet Rock colt also strode out powerfully. MALACHIM MIST was not disgraced in the big sales race at Doncaster last week and she moved smoothly in her final spin ahead of a nursery engagement at the same fixture. JIVE and VALUE could head to Leicester on Monday and they looked in good order in their breeze up the strip. MUSICAL COMEDY ran a cracker in defeat at Doncaster and has come out of that race sufficiently well for Hannon to consider a run in a novice race on the same card.
