Steve McNamara encouraged by England win over the Exiles

England coach Steve McNamara was pleased with his side's performance in the 30-10 victory over the Exiles in the International Origin match.

The Exiles - who had trailed 24-0 at the interval - did not get on the scoreboard until Mickey Paea and Joel Monaghan touched down in space of four second-half minutes. McClennan added: "I don't think we ever really came to the party in the first half, insofar as getting control of the ruck area. "We got pretty well beaten up there and 24-0 at half-time, that became a bridge too far for us. "But it was a very good response. We talked about getting tighter in the tackles, getting on the ground. If we had done that from the start we might have got into the hunt a bit better. We could have gone a lot closer."
