The record victory means the Lions have won their first series since 1997 and have emulated the class of 1989 by beating Australia 2-1.

Gatland: It was a tough build-up
Lions head coach Warren Gatland admitted he had
endured a tough few days ahead of clinching the series in Australia with an emphatic 41-16 win in Sydney. He said: "The last three or four days have been very, very hard. I had to make a tough decision on Thursday in leaving Brian out. You always doubt decisions but you have to make those hard calls sometimes. I've taken quite a bit of flak and I don't want to gloat or feel vindicated. It was about the boys today."
Jones - It is indescribable
Lions captain Alun-Wyn Jones was
almost lost for words after the series-clinching 41-16 third Test victory over Australia in Sydney. Jones, who captained the side after Sam Warburton was injured and Brian O'Driscoll was dropped, said afterwards: "It's pretty indescribable. There was a lot said about selection in the week and big thanks to the fans for coming out. I think we proved that despite talk of selection, the northern hemisphere is doing well - especially with the fans we've got."

Lions tour captain Sam Warburton
credited the entirety of the squad after watching his men claim the series. Warburton said: "To our boys, a massive well done. We worked so hard for this. To all the fans who spent thousands and thousands of pounds to come half way across the world to come and watch us play, a huge thank-you - it's made our tour. It's been a squad effort from all 40 of the boys and the management. They are so many people involved in this - not just the players."
Horwill blames early errors
Australia captain James Horwill
highlighted a poor start after surrendering the series against the British and Irish Lions with a 41-16 defeat at the ANZ Stadium. An emotional Horwill said: "We had too many errors early on and we gave them a head start. We started the second half like we wanted to start the first half. We let them get away with it and they were too good. You've got to give them credit - they played very well and were the better team tonight."

Sir Ian McGeechan said: "They will never forget tonight, they have done something and achieved something very special. They may not realise it until maybe six months down the line or understand the real impact of what they have done. Come Monday these people will go their separate ways but Australia 2013 will never be forgotten."
